Refund Policy

We offer a 14-day no-questions-asked refund on every SupaDupa purchase. If the app isn’t right for you, email us within 14 days of your purchase and we will refund you in full. You don’t need to justify the request.

This policy is part of and incorporated into our Terms of Service.


1. The 14-day window

You can request a full refund within 14 calendar days of your original purchase, for any reason or no reason at all.

The clock starts on the date your purchase was completed (the date on your Paddle receipt), not the date you first activated the app.


2. How to request a refund

You have two paths. Either works equally well.

Option A — Email us

Send an email to support@supadupa.tech with:

  • The email address you used to buy the app
  • The order number from your Paddle receipt (helpful but not required)

We aim to respond within 1 business day. Once approved, the refund typically appears on your card or original payment method within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.

Option B — Use the Paddle customer portal

Paddle is the merchant of record for SupaDupa purchases. Your receipt email (subject: “Your SupaDupa receipt”, sent from paddle.net) contains a link to your buyer portal at customer.paddle.com where you can request a refund directly. We will see the refund event come through within minutes and confirm it on our side automatically.


3. What happens to the app after a refund

When a refund is processed, your license is marked as refunded in our backend. The app will detect this on its next online status check (typically within 7 days) and gracefully degrade to the free tier.

A few things to know:

  • No abrupt lockout. The app does not stop working the moment the refund clears. You will not be interrupted mid-task.
  • No data loss. Your folder configurations, scan history, and any local data the app has produced remain on your device. If you later repurchase, the app will pick up where you left off.
  • Free tier still works. After a refund, the free tier remains available indefinitely. You keep folder management, scanning, exact-duplicate detection, basic search, and the media browser.

4. Update extensions

A 12-month update extension is a separate one-time purchase. If you choose to buy one, it extends your update window by 12 months. It is also covered by this 14-day refund policy from the date of that purchase.

If you refund a 12-month update extension, your update window reverts to where it was before that purchase — the underlying lifetime license to your purchased version is unaffected (per §3 of the Terms of Service).


5. After 14 days

After the 14-day window closes, we do not ordinarily offer refunds for:

  • Purchases older than 14 days, except where consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction requires otherwise
  • Incompatibility with a future version of macOS that we have not yet shipped support for (we will give advance notice in the changelog when an OS upgrade may break compatibility)
  • Charges from third parties that resold or comped your license without our authorization (those are not our customers and we cannot process refunds on them)

If you believe your situation still merits an exception — for example, an accidental duplicate purchase, a fraudulent charge, or a serious bug we never resolved — email us. We treat each case on its merits and would rather make things right than enforce a deadline mechanically.


6. Paddle as merchant of record

SupaDupa is sold through Paddle.com Market Limited (“Paddle”), which acts as the merchant of record. That means:

  • Your charge appears as “PADDLE.NET SUPADUPA”* on your statement, not as Carrington Creative Labs LLC.
  • Paddle holds the payment, handles VAT and sales tax in your jurisdiction, and processes refunds.
  • The legal terms governing the payment transaction itself are Paddle’s. See https://www.paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms and https://www.paddle.com/legal/refund-policy.

When you request a refund from us, we instruct Paddle to issue it. You can also request the refund directly via the Paddle buyer portal at customer.paddle.com — same outcome.


7. Chargebacks

If you encounter an issue, please contact us first. We will resolve almost any reasonable problem within 14 days, and we have not yet declined a refund request that was filed in good faith.

A chargeback filed without first contacting us is treated as the end of the customer relationship and may result in your license being deactivated and your email being placed on an internal fraud / do-not-service list. Because Paddle is the merchant of record, Paddle controls the formal chargeback process with the card networks, and any dispute response submitted to the payment network is handled by Paddle under its own policies.


8. Statutory rights

Nothing in this policy is intended to limit any consumer rights you have under applicable law that cannot lawfully be limited. If your jurisdiction grants you a longer cooling-off period or stronger refund rights than the 14 days described here, those statutory rights apply.

In particular, EU/UK consumers have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal under the Consumer Rights Directive; this policy meets or exceeds that standard.
